Welcome back to Harden Children’s Gala

After 2 years without a Gala due to COVID the Gala last June 2022 was a great success even if the flypast by the Spitfire was cancelled due to weather conditions. It was so lovely to see the children in the procession dressed to celebrate the Jubillee with crowns, princess's and a flurry of red, white and blue everywhere. The Gala field was buzzing with excitement from children spending their pennies on various games and stalls.

After a busy December hosting the Gala Disco and putting up the village Christmas tree we are alread planning for this years Gala where we welcome for the first time a Gala King along with Gala Queen and attendants.

The Gala on Saturday 17 June 2023 would have been (if it had not been for the rude interruption of COVID) the 50th gala arranged by the Harden Children’s Gala Committee.
We therefore want to make this a particularly memorable occasion and are inviting all the previous queens and attendants to join in the Gala Procession from the top of Long Lane to the Gala Field and to join this year’s royalty around the dias.

We have the full list of gala queens and attendants (see below) and over the next few months we will be jogging your memories with photographs from Solna's “10, 20, 30 and 40 years ago” articles which have been included in the gala programmes since 2014.

If you were a queen or attendant and are available to join the procession please let Solna know on 07884 233382 so we know who will be there and can arrange badges or sashes (we do not expect you to wear your original dresses). If you know anyone on the list that may not see it, please ask them to get in touch.
